Silk with a bright print or plain cotton - use the remnants of any fabrics to sew a turban bandage. An exotic accessory will perfectly complement any look and bring a share of chic and hippie romance to it.
You will need:
- patterned silk fabric,
- elastic tape 2.5 cm wide and approx. 15 cm
- threads
- scale bar
- chalk pencil
- tailor pins
- scissors
How to sew a headband
Step 1
From the silk fabric, cut out two rectangles measuring 52 x 18 cm. Turn one long section of each part twice into a width of 5 mm and stitch it to the edge.
Step 2
Fold one of the parts with the front side inward along a long cut, pin and grind to a width of 1 cm, leaving a 3 cm long section behind open. Seam allowances should be ironed twice on both sides of the seam 5 mm wide and pin.
Step 3
Stitch seam allowances on either side of the seam to the edge, not reaching approx. 2 cm to the open area.
Step 4
Thread the second part through the hole in the first part to half the length. Close the longitudinal section, leaving a 3 cm section open in the seam.
Step 5
Iron the seam allowances twice on both sides of the seam to a width of 1 cm, pin and stitch to the edge.The drapery at the dressing is now centered.
Do-it-yourself knit bandage with bow
Step 6
From a silk fabric, cut out a rectangle measuring 7 x 18 cm, fold it in half along the front side inward and grind it at a distance of 1 cm. Iron out the seam allowances. Turn out the detail.
Step 7
Insert elastic tape into the part. You can use a safety pin.
Step 8
Tighten the short sections of the part inwards to a width of 1 cm and pin to the elastic tape. So on the part you get the assembly.
Step 9
Patch short sections of the dressing up to a length of 2.5 cm, insert into the part with elastic tape and sew on the edge.
