Velvet decorative pillows look unusual and modern thanks to tai dai staining.

These pillows make up a wonderful couple and can become a bright and modern accent of the interior - tai-dye coloring is now in trend. Thanks to the velvet from which they are sewn, pillows at the same time look noble.

When choosing a paint for fabric, focus on the composition of your material. If velvet has a natural composition (silk, viscose), take the appropriate paint. In our case, velvet had a significant amount of synthetic fibers, the dye was chosen for synthetic fabrics and performed its function well.

Fancy decorative pillows: 10 ideas with instructions

Step 1

Determine the dimensions of your pillows and carve 2 identical parts for each. Fold the details of each pillow. Then fold them and fasten them with elastic bands - here the details of one pillow are folded accordion first along, then across, and the details are repeatedly intercepted by elastic bands several times.

Step 2

Dye the dye in water in accordance with the instructions for use and immerse the fabric there, drowning it well.

Wait for the dye to impregnate the fabric, remove it and put it in a plastic bag for the time necessary for exposure (see the instructions for your paint).

Remove the fabric, remove the elastic bands and rinse the fabric until the water becomes clear. Dry the parts.

Step 3

Fold the parts with their faces inward and pin them together. Lay the stitch around the perimeter, departing from the edge by 1 cm, and leaving a hole for turning out.

Step 4

Cut corners. Turn out the pillow and fill it with filler. Sew the hole manually with a blind seam. Done!
