Winter cold adversely affects the condition of the skin of the hands and nails, especially if you like to walk without mittens or do not attach importance to differences in care at different times of the year.

But remember what you can do in winter, and what you can’t do is not at all difficult.

IN COLD TIME OF THE YEAR

COMPLICATION OF PROCEDURES
In summer, cream on hands can be applied 1-2 times a day - and this will be enough if you do not take sea baths, but in winter it is best to use the cream every time after that. How do you wash your hands. This prevents the skin from losing moisture.
Once a week, apply a scrub to the skin of your hands, this will make your hands softer and more flexible. It is easy to make a scrub at home, you just need to mix coarse sea salt or granulated sugar with honey. Even simpler is to wash your hands with the coffee grounds remaining in the coffee machine.
MORE DENSE CARE CONSISTENCE
Change the “summer” cream to “winter”: it should be more dense, oily, saturated, well, if it contains vitamins A and E. Such a cream will not only nourish the skin of the hands, but also moisturize it. In severe frosts, you can switch to balm - it absorbs longer, but better protects the skin from the cold.

MORE OIL
For winter nail care, it is useful to purchase a special oil: just one drop will be enough for one hand. Distribute this drop into the wells of five nails and rub the oil with light circular motions. This massage moisturizes the cuticles well and prevents the appearance of burrs.
For these purposes, any vegetable oil is also suitable, preferably unrefined - olive, linseed, sunflower.
PRINCIPLE OF MULTILAYER
When it’s cold, we usually wear several layers of clothing to keep warm. Cosmetics in winter are also useful to apply according to the same principle, and half an hour before going out. First, you can apply, for example, vegetable oil, then a moisturizer, and for those who have dry hands, it is useful to apply a third layer - a nourishing cream.
By the way, it has been proven that from time to time it is useful to change skin care products - this is perceived by the skin as a little stress, which as a result increases its tone.
MASKS
Specialists recommend making hand masks 1-2 times a week. It’s easy to cook them at home, here are some recipes:
Moisturizing: 1 table. tablespoon butter, pulp 1 banana, 1 teaspoon. a spoon of honey. Rub everything and with a thick layer cover the skin of the hands from the tips of the fingers to the elbow. Wrap your hands in a terry towel and leave for 10-20 minutes, then rinse with cool water.
Nutritious: 100 g of cottage cheese, 1 teaspoon. a spoonful of olive oil. Further see above.
Exfoliating: 1 table. a spoonful of sour cream, 1 teaspoon. spoon of honey, 1 egg yolk. Further see above.

IN COLD TIME OF THE YEAR IT IS IMPOSSIBLE

SHARP HEATING
Returning home from the cold, do not warm your hands under the stream of hot water, this weakens the walls of blood vessels and as a result reduces skin tone. It is better to make a warming bath with the addition of sea salt from water close to body temperature.

EDGE MANICURE
In winter, the cuticle becomes drier and weaker, so it is better to abandon such a popular trim manicure. It is better to apply a fat cream or oil to the cuticle and with gentle movements, without pressure, push the cuticle with a wooden stick with a rounded end.
SUPER RESISTANT VARNISH
Modern varnishes like shellac are kept on the nails for more than 2 weeks, but that is why they are not suitable for use in the winter. Under the scrapping of such a varnish, the nail plate does not breathe, quickly loses moisture, exfoliates and becomes brittle. In winter, it is better to cover the nails with eco-lacquers, which do not contain aggressive formaldehydes and toluene, and the coloring pigments are of natural origin.

MITTENS
No, not gloves, namely mittens - they have a lot of free space and, therefore, heat. In addition, mittens protect the lipid layer of the skin from damage, which performs a barrier function and prevents skin aging.
Moreover, this season mittens, especially handmade models, are very popular and relevant. And for needlewomen, such accessories are an ideal area for applying their creative imagination.
