By her first education, the creator of Tegin Fashion House is a designer of outerwear, and her affair with a coat happened at the very beginning of her creative career.

What is the reason for such love?

During my studies, I spent several years in practice at the Kiev House of Models, and during this time we sewed about 10 coats. Until now, the fall-winter collections have been my best.

And when did you meet Burda Magazine?

It could be taken at the Model House in the library, but it was considered a special privilege! Of course, we had basic patterns that were developed by designers, and based on them we modeled. However, Burda patterns were better, and clothes were better fitted. I don’t know what the secret is, but the quality of the basics was impeccable. It still seemed to me then that our design system was lagging behind the European one. Therefore, for quite some time I myself used patterns from the magazine.

What do you like about our 1987 coat?

I am attracted by the length of this model, stand-up collar, good sleeve length, one button. Here, according to time, the shoulders are very pronounced, I would remove them.

You can make a raglan sleeve, and you get a beautiful modern coat.In the magazine, the image is very effective, different shades of the same color add luxury to it. Although in our country, purple is not too fond of. In this case, it is very "tasty", blackberry-blueberry, I like it.

And what is most important for you in a coat?

A good fabric is wool or cashmere. Quality material is much more convenient to handle. It is now fashionable to combine different types of materials, for example neoprene with wool. It is important to keep the silhouette clean. The simpler the design, the more opportunities to dream up, for example, to make the back of the fur, and the front of the fabric. It is perfectly acceptable to add a fur collar; it always adorns.
